Choose Us with Confidence
We offer two-year warranties for all residential and commercial projects. This warranty covers the Finishing Touch labor to re-coat areas that are blistering and peeling caused by any bonding failures of our workers or their workmanship.
This is an important part of our commitment to those we serve. We believe this warranty helps our clients have confidence and peace of mind when choosing us.
You have every reason to feel good about your decision to hire Finishing Touch Painting!
All paint manufactures come with a product warranty.
Not all contractors offer, and stand behind, a workmanship warranty.
Paint manufacturer warranty are useful when a product fails however worthless if the contractor doesn’t provide a workmanship warranty against defects related to how the surface was prepped and the product was applied.
It’s no secret that most paint jobs fail as a result of poor workmanship. Over the years, we’ve seen contractors using wrong materials, following incorrect application techniques, and applying paint under improper weather conditions.
Considering that the majority cost of a whole paint contract is labor, the workmanship warranty provided by the contractor is much more important than the product warranty offered by the manufacturer.

CABINET REFINISHING ADDENDUM
This addendum applies to cabinet painting and refinishing work described on your contract. It adds to the Finishing Touch Painting Limited Two Year Warranty; all terms, limitations and requirements of that warranty still apply. Where the two conflict, this addendum controls for cabinet work.
COVERAGE:
For two years from the date of completion, the Contractor will repair peeling, blistering, flaking or loss of adhesion of the cabinet finish resulting from defective workmanship. Doors and drawer fronts that were removed and sprayed in the Contractor’s shop will be removed, re-prepped and resprayed in the shop. Cabinet boxes, face frames, end panels and trim painted in place in the home will receive spot repair and touch-up of the affected area only. Touch-ups on in-place surfaces may not exactly match the surrounding finish in sheen or color, since all coatings change with age and light exposure. Only cabinets listed on the contract are covered.
3-DAY PUNCH LIST:
Within 3 days of completion, the Contractor will return once, at no charge, to handle items that are not covered by the two year warranty: door and drawer alignment and hinge adjustment; small nicks, scuffs or touch-ups from reinstallation; and minor finish imperfections noted at the final walkthrough. Please gather all items into a single list before the visit. Requests after 3 days for these items will be billed at standard rates.
THIS ADDENDUM DOES NOT COVER:
In addition to the exclusions in the Limited Two Year Warranty: Normal wear and tear, including chips, scratches and finish wear around knobs, pulls, hinges, door edges and other high-touch areas. Damage from impact, heat (toasters, slow cookers, oven vents), steam or self-cleaning oven cycles. Damage from water or moisture, including sink-base leaks, dishwasher steam and standing water on cabinet surfaces. Stains or softening from grease, food, ink or cleaning products not listed in the care guidelines. Hairline cracks at door panel joints, rail and stile seams, or miters caused by natural wood movement with seasonal humidity. Caulked joints and seams. Pre-existing conditions such as dings, dents, delamination, loose joints, worn hinges or drawer slides. Laminate, thermofoil, vinyl, melamine or other non-wood surfaces, unless covered in writing on the contract. Damage caused by others after completion, including countertop, backsplash, flooring, plumbing or appliance installation. Hardware, hinges and drawer slides, whether original or new. Clear-coat, stain or varnish finishes, unless covered in writing on the contract.
FOR THIS ADDENDUM TO BE VALID, YOU MUST:
Meet all requirements of the Limited Two Year Warranty, including payment in full. Allow the finish to cure: for the first 14 days, use cabinets gently, open and close doors by hand, avoid scrubbing, and do not apply tape, shelf liner or adhesive bumpers. The finish reaches full hardness in about 30 days. Clean only with a soft cloth and mild soap and water; do not use abrasive pads, degreasers, ammonia, bleach or solvent-based cleaners. Wipe up water, grease and spills promptly, and report any plumbing leaks right away. Not attempt repairs or have others repair the finish without the Contractor’s written approval. Report any defect in writing within 30 days of noticing it, with photos, to ryan@finishingtouchpaint.com or by calling 617-620-0303.
This addendum applies only to the original purchaser named on the contract and is not transferable.
